The screen of e-z Composer Main Page has
general operations menu bar at the top
and Table of Articles
with article editing commands. At the bootom
of this page is other menu bar
with some static pages preparation operations.
Operations accesible to Editor only are marked here
with yellow color.
Menu bar with links to the general operations and exit (logout) from the e-z Composer:
One e-z Composer session is limited to 45 minutes. After the session
time limit is reached, a timeout script automatically runs logout option
and redirectes user to LOGIN entrance.
- PREVIEW of Index
- Activates preview of ezine main page (Index of Articles).
Preview uses index template and data from online database. This shows
how the ezine will look after the Publish operation.

- PUBLISH
- This operation is shown on the Main Page only in the case the user is an Editor.
This operation deletes old ezine web documents and creates (using templates
and data from online database) a new set of ezine's web documents. After
the Publish operation, a new version of ezine is released.

- View Log
- Editors can see a log of all accesses to the e-zine Composer, showing
the author's changes and their operations during that. Inside the Log there are
also records of all non-authorized access attempts, user errors and system error.

- Info/Help
- This link, visible to all users, shows, in a new window,
information about e-z Composer. After reading that information,
Info/Help window can be closed or minimized.

- LOGOUT
- This operation disconnects the user from e-z Composer and
must be used at the end of each session to leave the system.

- Table of Articles
- Each row of this table is a single article. List of
articles is shown in time-inverse order so the latest one
is at the top of the list (as it will be published).
Left in the table is an article summary (1),
and in the middle there is an illustrated
article page model, Article ID number, status indicator and
links to editing (2) and delting operations applicable to this article.
Locking operation is located in the right column (3).

- ADD New Summary
- Starting of new article preparation sequence.
This operation will create a new entry in ezine database,
generate an article ID number using the articles
counter, and than open a summary input form on user's screen.
Author can then write a summary into the form (the summary will
be visible on the Index page).
Summary can be later changed with an operation view/edit (1).
New article hasn't got any text and pictures and has the simplest
layout model - type 1 model (text only). Inside preview and edit
operation (2), author can select some other model,
write the text, and add pictures.

Authors can not see and activate lock/unlock, because only Editors
can use these operations to protect/unprotect articles from future
changes. If the article is locked, preview is possible but instead
of links to the edit operations in the rightmost column there is a
message saying "LOCKED by Editor".

- Preview/Edit Article group of operation can be activated by
this link or by clicking on a "model" picture in the column (2).
Inside this group of operations, author can change a page model
and background color, write text and add or remove picture files.

- delete article
- This operation removes this summary and article and all of his
constituent parts from database. There is no Undo operation,
the deletion is final.

- Lock/Unlock tool
- Each article can be locked or unlocked by Editor. Only
locked article is qualified for publishing.
Static pages, edit and publishing
This menu is located ta the bottom side of Composer's Main Page.
Inside each of this sub-pages Editor must use Publish operation
after each change to publish this particular page.
Sub-pages accesible to Editor only are marked with yellow color.
- Impresum
- Info about publisher - zine owner. Contact data, list of editors and authors etc...
This page have only text without pictures. After aditih use publish
at his tool sub-page.
- Intro/preface
- Some intro text writed by Editor. Use Publish at this subpaga after
any cahange.
- Authors
- Photos, contact data and a short text about each author and editor.
Editor have to lock and publish this page. Images have to be in
*.JPG format, width=100 pixels.
- Links
- A small web directory. Author can add and edit own
links, editor must publish this page
- Comments
- Editor can moderate/delete some comments to removo
unpropriate or commercials...
